Ex won't follow the custody schedule and I'm losing my mind

So we have a formal agreement. She's supposed to have them Tuesday and Thursday after school plus every other weekend. Lately she's been asking to swap days constantly, saying she has to work late or whatever. I'm not trying to be a jerk about it because I want her to see them, but I can't just rearrange my whole schedule every week and my work is getting affected. I've talked to her like 5 times and nothing changes. Do I need to get a lawyer involved or am I overreacting? This is exhausting.

This is frustrating stuff. Have you documented everything? I mean every missed pickup, every change? You're going to need that if it escalates to court stuff.

I've been there. It's exhausting dealing with someone who won't respect the agreement. You might need to loop in a mediator or even a lawyer to make it stick. Sorry man.

That's rough. The kids get confused when the schedule keeps changing on them and then you're the one dealing with their stress. Have you talked to her directly about why she's doing this or is it just chaos?
