Ex won't stick to custody schedule

This is driving me crazy. We agreed on alternating weekends but she's constantly asking me to swap days last minute or keep the kids longer. When I try to do something with my schedule she says no. I don't want to be the bad guy but I need some consistency here. Do I need to get a lawyer involved or is there a way to handle this before it gets ugly?
