Ex won't stick to custody schedule

This is driving me crazy. We agreed on alternating weekends but she keeps texting me last minute saying she needs to switch. Last week it was 3 times. I work construction and plan my jobs around my days with the kids. When she changes it last minute I either have to turn down work or ask my mom to watch them. I've tried being flexible but this is getting ridiculous. Anyone else dealing with this? How do you handle it without coming off like a jerk?

Last minute switches mess up everything on your end. You gotta have a real conversation with her about how this affects your time with your kids and your ability to plan.

That's really frustrating. I'd suggest asking her to lock in a communication method for schedule changes only if absolutely necessary, and set a deadline for requests. Three times in a week is excessive.
