Ex won't stick to custody schedule, affecting my time with kids

Been dealing with this for about 6 months now. We have a pretty clear 50/50 split on paper but my ex keeps changing pickup times or saying the kids have activities last minute. Last Friday she texted me at 4pm that my son had a soccer game at 5:30 on MY day. I had to rearrange everything at work. When I bring it up she says I'm being difficult. How do you guys handle this without going back to court every other week? The kids are suffering from the inconsistency too.

This is tough. Co-parenting only works when both people actually follow through. You might need to have a serious conversation with a mediator or lawyer at this point because your kids are the ones losing out.

Six months is brutal. Have you documented all the missed exchanges? Your lawyer needs to know about a pattern like this. Screenshots, calendars, everything.

This is exactly why people recommend those co-parenting apps - everything's timestamped and documented. Makes it way harder for someone to claim they 'forgot' or reschedule on a whim.

Six months of that would drive me crazy. Have you tried documenting it all? Dates, missed pickups, everything? Might help if you need to go back to court to enforce it.

Keep records of everything. Texts, missed pickups, all of it. I hate saying it but sometimes you have to be ready to go back to court if they won't respect the agreement.

Man that's frustrating. Have you gone back to court about it? Seems like if it's really systematic you might need to escalate this.
