Ex won't stick to custody schedule - feeling frustrated

Been dealing with this for over a year now. My ex keeps switching weekends without asking and expects me to be flexible. I get that life happens but this is the third time this month. I'm trying to be chill about it but I feel like I'm getting walked on. Do I need to get a lawyer involved or should I try talking about it again? Kids are 8 and 10.
