Ex won't stick to custody schedule, what are my options?

So my ex has been swapping weekends without asking me first. Last month she kept the kids an extra week because her mom was visiting and just texted me about it after the fact. I've been pretty flexible honestly but now it's messing with my work schedule. Do I need to lawyer up again or is there a way to handle this without going back to court? I don't want things to be nasty but I need consistency.

This is rough. You need to document every single time she does this. Keep a calendar with dates, who she kept, when she was supposed to return them. If this keeps happening you've got evidence for when you need to go back to court and formalize things.

I had to deal with this for a while. Honestly it got better once we switched to an app where any changes had to be approved by both of us. Takes the guesswork out of it and keeps it from being a power thing.
