So my ex has been picking up the kids 30 mins to an hour late almost every week now. I work and have plans lined up, and it's throwing everything off. I've asked her nicely multiple times but she just says she got held up. Do I need to start documenting this stuff? Not sure if it matters legally but it's getting frustrating.
I feel this. Early on after my divorce I had similar issues. We ended up setting a firm rule that 15 minutes late meant I wasn't available to pick up that day. Sounds harsh but it fixed the problem quick.
Have you had a calm conversation with her about what's going on? Sometimes there's a reason behind the lateness even if it doesn't excuse it. Could be work stuff or something with the kids.
This would drive me nuts. You've got work and responsibilities and she's messing with your time. Maybe a conversation about how it's affecting your schedule? Keep it factual and not emotional.
