Ex won't stick to pickup schedule

This is driving me crazy. We agreed on Wednesdays at 6pm for pickup but she's been late like 5 times in the last month. Last week it was almost 8pm and I had plans. When I text her about it she just ignores me or says something came up. How do I handle this without making things worse? I don't want to be that guy but I need some consistency here for the kids too.

Five times in how long? If it's a pattern, that's not emergencies, that's just disrespect for your time. You shouldn't have to sit around wondering if she's actually coming.

Have you put anything in writing about consequences? Like, if she's late past a certain time, you make other plans? Sometimes people need to understand there are actual repercussions.
