Ex won't stick to pickup schedule, affecting kids' routine

This is driving me crazy. We agreed on Tuesday and Thursday pickups at 6pm, but my ex shows up whenever she feels like it. Last week she was 45 minutes late on a Tuesday and the kids missed their soccer practice. I've tried talking to her about it calmly but she just says I'm being too rigid. The kids are getting confused about what day they're supposed to be ready. Should I document this? I don't want to take her back to court but I'm worried about how this is messing with the kids' schedules.

You might need to involve the court on this one if it keeps happening. I know it sucks but the kids suffering because of unpredictability isn't fair to them. Document everything.

Man I'm living this exact situation. Tuesday and Thursday 6pm sounds nice in theory but my ex treats it like a suggestion. The kids ask me all week if she's actually coming.

This would drive me insane too. The kids need to know what to expect. Have you tried putting it in writing with consequences spelled out, or does she just blow past that stuff?

My ex was like this for a while. The kids definitely acted out more when schedules were all over the place. Might be time for a firm conversation or involve a mediator if it keeps happening.

This is rough man. Inconsistent pickups mess with the whole routine and the kids feel it. Document everything and get it in writing with her. Email confirmations help.

That's gotta be stressful for you and confusing for the kids. Have you tried setting up automatic reminders or texts? Sometimes a neutral third party app helps keep things on track.
