Ex won't stick to pickup schedule, affecting my time with kids

Been dealing with this for 3 months now. We agreed on Wednesdays and every other weekend but she's been texting last minute that she needs to switch days constantly. I work a specific shift so I can't just rearrange everything. Last week she was an hour late picking them up on Friday and didn't even apologize. When I brought it up she said I'm being 'too rigid' but like, the kids need consistency right? How do you guys handle this without it turning into a massive fight? Been trying to keep things civil for the kids but I'm getting frustrated.

I feel you on this one. Been there with schedule chaos. You gotta be clear and consistent - stick to your agreement every single time and don't let her flexibility turn into your problems. Kids need that predictability too.

Three months of that is exhausting, especially when you're trying to plan around your kids. You need to put this in writing if it's not already - text her that schedule changes need 48 hours notice minimum, or stick to the agreement.

That's rough, man. Last minute switches mess with you and the kids. Time to get firm about it - document when she cancels and if it keeps happening, you might need to escalate it back through your agreement or lawyer.

Been there. Get everything in writing - texts, emails, whatever. When it comes time to enforce the schedule, you'll need that paper trail. Sorry you're dealing with this.

That's got to be rough on the kids too, not knowing when they're actually coming. Have you talked to a mediator about getting a more formal arrangement?
