Ex won't stick to pickup schedule, affecting my time with kids

This is driving me crazy. We agreed on Thursday pickups at 6pm but she's either an hour late or just doesn't show up. Then she texts me at 7pm asking if I can bring them back early on Sunday instead. I don't mind being flexible but she's using the schedule like it's a suggestion. How do I address this without looking like the bad guy? The kids are asking why sometimes dad gets them and sometimes he doesn't. Do I need to involve my lawyer or is there a better way to handle this?

That's really frustrating man. Document every late pickup or no-show and try sending her a message confirming the time in writing before each Thursday so you've got a record. If it keeps happening you might need to loop in a lawyer to enforce the agreement.
