Ex won't stick to pickup schedule, messing up my work

This is the third time this month she's been late picking up the kids on my work days. Last Tuesday I was 45 minutes late to a client meeting because she didn't show up till 5:15 when it was supposed to be 4:30. I texted her asking what happened and she just said 'traffic.' No apology, no heads up beforehand. I don't want to be that guy constantly arguing about this but it's affecting my job performance and my boss is starting to notice. Do I need to document these late pickups? Should I bring it up at our next mediation or just deal with it?

I feel this. My ex used to pull this and I lost a client meeting once. Document everything and keep records of every late pickup. If it keeps happening you might have legal options depending on your custody agreement.

That's frustrating dude. Three times in a month isn't a pattern, that's disrespect for your schedule. You might need to have a conversation about actual consequences or look into modifying the arrangement officially. Your work matters too.

This is tough because it's not your problem to solve but it IS affecting your work life. Have you tried just laying it out? Like 'this is costing me money and stress, we need to figure this out'? Sometimes being direct helps.

Man that's frustrating, I deal with similar stuff and it kills your whole schedule. Have you tried putting the pickup times in writing or using an app to track it? Might help if you need to go back to court about it.

Man, that would drive me crazy too. Have you thought about setting up a communication system like reminders a day before or something? Not saying it's your job to manage her schedule but it might help.

I deal with this constantly and it's maddening. Last thing you need when you're trying to focus at work is the stress of wondering if the kids are even being picked up on time.
