Ex won't stick to the custody schedule

This is the third week in a row she's had the kids when it's supposed to be my weekend. She says it's because of stuff coming up and asks if I can trade but then never actually reschedules. My lawyer said to document it but I don't want to be that guy making things worse. How do you guys handle this without being difficult? I just want my time with them.

That's rough man. Third week in a row is not okay. You need to document all of this and bring it up with your lawyer if you have one. Don't let this become the new normal or she'll keep doing it.
Have you tried just straight up asking her what's going on? Sometimes these things spiral from a miscommunication. But yeah if she's consistently breaking the schedule you need to address it formally. Those weekends with your kids are important.
