Finally got 50/50 custody after 18 months of fighting

Long story short, her lawyer made some crazy claims about my fitness as a parent. Spent about 40k on legal fees and more sleepless nights than I can count. Judge ordered a custody evaluation and the evaluator actually talked to me like a real person. Today got the papers - 50/50 with 2 week blocks. I'm exhausted but it was worth it. Buying myself a drink tonight. For anyone in the middle of this, hang in there.

40k is a lot but having real custody of your kids is worth every penny. I'm in the co-parenting trenches too and I know how it feels when someone questions your fitness as a parent. You kept fighting and you won. That takes guts.

Congrats on the 50/50. Eighteen months of fighting for equal time is exhausting but you stuck it out. That's your kids seeing their dad fight for them.

Congratulations on getting 50/50. That 18 month fight sounds absolutely brutal. How are you doing mentally after all that? I can't imagine the stress of fighting legal battles about your relationship with your kids.

That's amazing. I know people who spent even more than that fighting for custody and it was still worth it. Your kids get to see you regularly now and that matters. How are they handling the new schedule?

That's a long road and expensive as hell. Glad you pushed through though. 50/50 is worth it for peace of mind knowing you've got equal say.
