Finally got custody agreement approved - here's what I learned

Six months of back and forth but we got it done. Wanted to share what helped us actually communicate instead of fight: 1) Use a co-parenting app (we use OurFamilyWizard), 2) Keep conversations about the kids ONLY, 3) Set expectations in writing, 4) Have a lawyer review everything but try to work stuff out first because court is expensive as hell. Don't get me wrong, it still sucks and there are moments I want to lose it. But my kids are happier now that things are stable. Worth the headache.

Congrats on getting that sorted out. Co-parenting agreements are no joke, took us almost a year to get ours finalized. Would definitely be interested in hearing what actually helped you communicate through all that.

That's a huge win, man. Six months of back and forth sounds exhausting but you came out the other side with something that works. Props for sticking it out for the kids.

Real respect for posting this and being willing to share what you learned. A lot of guys in that situation don't want to talk about it, but this kind of advice could actually help someone else going through the same thing.
