Finally got kids to open up about how they feel during transitions

Small win here - been working with a child therapist on communication and yesterday my 9yo and 11yo actually told me what's been bothering them about switching houses. Turns out they hate that my ex doesn't pack their stuff for transitions and they feel like they have to remember everything themselves. Meanwhile at my place I've got everything labeled and ready to go.

Instead of getting defensive about her parenting, I asked if they'd like me to call her and offer to help with a packing system. They actually seemed relieved. Not gonna lie, felt good to handle that maturely lol.
