Finally got the custody agreement finalized after 18 months
Man what a journey. Went through 3 different lawyers, mediation fell apart twice, and my ex kept changing demands at the last minute. But we finally signed off on 50/50 custody with alternating weeks. Kids are 8 and 5 so I wanted to make sure I got real time with them, not just weekends. The legal fees were brutal but it's done. Now we need to figure out how to actually communicate without it turning into a fight every time. Anyone else go through this? Tips on keeping things civil for the kids sake?
Three lawyers is rough. I hope the agreement actually gives you solid time with the kids and isn't going to need reworking in 6 months. That back and forth is exhausting.
