Finally had a decent conversation with my ex about the kids
We haven't been able to talk about anything besides logistics in like two years. But today she called about our son's reading struggles and we actually discussed it like two adults who care about him. We agreed to both talk to his teacher and check in. It wasn't weird or awkward like it usually is. I don't know why I'm posting this but it felt like progress and I needed to acknowledge it somewhere. Divorce sucks but maybe we can actually co-parent better now.
Two years is a long time to be stuck in logistics mode, so this is real progress. Even just being able to talk about what the kids need makes co-parenting so much better for everyone involved.
