First overnight after separation, I'm nervous

The custody agreement just got finalized and I'm getting my 4 year old daughter for the first overnight next weekend. Honestly I'm freaking out a little. I've got her room set up, bought some stuffed animals, have snacks she likes. My ex is probably going to grill me about everything when I drop her off. How do I make this feel normal for her? Any tips for a first timer?

First overnight is huge, man. You're gonna do great with her. Pack some of her favorite snacks, maybe a comfort movie for before bed, and just relax. Four year olds are pretty forgiving and she's gonna be excited to hang with her dad.

That nervous feeling is totally normal, but honestly you've got this. Just keep a routine as close to what she's used to as possible and don't stress if bedtime takes longer than expected. She's gonna remember that her dad was there for her.
