Got custody of my kids after 3 years of fighting
I'm still in shock honestly. Been the non custodial parent since the divorce and it was rough. I fought hard through the court system, documented everything, got a good lawyer, and proved I was the more stable parent. My ex had some issues with substance and just couldn't get it together. The kids are finally with me full time now and I won't lie, it's overwhelming. But seeing them every morning and handling their lives instead of just visiting is amazing. To any dads out there thinking about pursuing custody: it's possible, it's worth it, and don't give up.
This is awesome to hear. The documentation and persistence pay off. Now the real adventure starts, but you've already proven you're all in for your kids.
