Holiday parenting schedule is a nightmare

So Christmas is on a Wednesday this year and our CO has a strict alternating holiday schedule. She gets Thanksgiving (which is Thursday) and that means Christmas morning falls on my non-custodial day. I got the kids New Year's last year so she's claiming Christmas is only fair. I'm not trying to be selfish but Christmas morning with your kids is kind of a big deal? How are other people handling this? Is modifying the schedule even worth it at this point or do I just accept it?

You have my sympathy. I've got the same situation and we ended up just splitting Christmas morning and evening. Not perfect but the kids get both parents.

The CO is pretty clear though so you might not have much wiggle room. Document everything she agrees to in writing so there's no misunderstandings later.

Wednesday Christmas with alternating schedules is legitimately rough. Have you two considered deviating from the strict schedule just for the big holidays? Might be worth the conversation.

How old are the kids? That might affect whether you can actually make a custody adjustment for just this year without getting her to agree.

This is the worst part of co-parenting honestly. The schedule conflicts during major holidays always turn into negotiations that stress everyone out. What's she asking for exactly?
