How do you handle your ex dating someone new?

My ex started seeing someone about a month ago and now he's meeting the kids. I don't have any legal standing to stop it but it's weird and honestly upsetting. My daughter mentioned he stayed over and I felt my chest get tight. I know I don't have a right to be upset since we've been split for 2 years but I can't help it. Looking for perspective from other guys who've been through this.

Yeah that's a weird feeling, I get it. The best thing I did was focus on what I can control - making sure my time with my daughter is solid and fun. The rest tends to work itself out.

Man, that's tough. I went through something similar and it took a few months before it felt normal, but eventually you realize as long as they're good to your kids, that's what matters. Hang in there.

It's totally natural to feel weird about it. My advice is don't fight the feeling but also don't let it affect how you are with the kids during your time. They're picking up on everything.
