Just finalized custody agreement after 18 months

Finally done. 50/50 custody, alternating weeks starting Monday. The lawyer fees were brutal and the whole thing was emotionally draining, but I feel like I got a fair deal. My kids are 7 and 9 and seem relieved that everything is settled. Anyone else been through the whole legal process? Curious how other guys adjusted to the new schedule with their kids.

Man, 18 months is rough but you made it through. That 50/50 alternating weeks setup is what I've got going too, and once you get into the rhythm it actually works pretty well. The lawyer fees are the worst part but at least it's done and you can focus on the kids now.

Congrats on getting it finalized. I won't lie, the emotional toll is real, but you're gonna feel so much better once you settle into the routine. Just wait until you develop your system for remembering who needs what on your weeks.

That's a huge accomplishment getting through the whole process. The money sucks but having a solid agreement in place means you can actually be present with the kids instead of dealing with uncertainty.
