"did you pack jake's soccer stuff?" "remember his asthma inhaler" "he needs a haircut soon" "btw his teacher wants to meet about grades"

All during the times he's with me. I KNOW my kid. I've been doing this for 5 years. I don't need play-by-play instructions. But if I don't respond right away she acts like I'm being difficult. Just let me parent without the constant updates challenge (impossible)

The haircut one gets me. Like yes, Karen, I can see his hair too and I'm capable of scheduling an appointment without a reminder every other day.

My ex does this exact thing. I started responding with 'I've got him' or 'will handle it' to everything and eventually she realized I wasn't going to engage on non-emergencies. Took about 3 months of consistency though.

Some people struggle with not being in control. It's less about Jake needing a haircut and more about her needing to feel necessary. Still annoying as hell to deal with though.

Dude this is so frustrating. Have you tried setting up a specific info-sharing system like a shared Google Doc or app? Makes it harder for her to use texts as an excuse to contact you during your time.

Honestly the asthma inhaler reminder isn't totally unreasonable if he's had issues before, but the rest is just her needing to trust you. You had him before you split, you know what a kid needs.
