Kid doesn't want to come to my house

My 8 year old has been saying he doesn't want to spend his weekends with me anymore. Says he'd rather stay at mom's house with his friends. It's breaking my heart. I think she's poisoning him against me but I don't have proof. Don't want to push him and lose him but also don't know how to fix this. Anyone been through something similar?

Eight is the age where friend time suddenly matters a lot. Could you do something together that actually interests him instead of just the usual routine?

I've been there and it stings, but this age is tricky with friend groups pulling them in different directions. Maybe ask him what would make weekends more fun instead of just accepting the no.
