Spent 15k on lawyers so far and we're still fighting over child support amounts. She wants more than the guidelines say and my lawyer says we have a case but we'd need another 5k to fight it properly. I can't do it. This is getting ridiculous. Do any of you have experience getting a modification after the fact or should I just accept it and move on?
That's soul crushing. You're trying to do right by the kids and instead you're hemorrhaging money to lawyers. Is there a mediator option your state offers that's cheaper?
This is exactly why I keep telling guys to try to keep things amicable during the split. Once the lawyers get involved it just bleeds money.

This is one of the worst parts of co-parenting. The money drains away and you're just trying to be fair with your kids. Hang in there, it eventually settles.
