Legal fees are killing me

Second modification to the custody order because she wants to move out of state with the kids. My lawyer is charging me $350/hour and we're already 6 hours in and nothing's been decided yet. I don't have the money for a drawn out court battle. Anyone been through this? Is there a cheaper way to handle this or am I stuck paying whatever she throws at me?

Man, I feel that pain. When my ex pulled the move-out threat, the legal fees nearly broke me. See if your lawyer can negotiate a flat rate for the modification instead of hourly - some will work with you on repeat cases.

That's brutal. Have you looked into mediation instead of going full legal battle? Could save you thousands and honestly might be better for working things out with the kids involved.
