Missed pickup last week and kids were upset

Work emergency came up and I had to reschedule pickup by 2 hours. Explained to ex beforehand, she agreed. But when I got there my son asked why I was late and seemed disappointed. That hit me hard. I know it's not a huge deal but I'm trying to be the reliable parent here. Just needed to vent that I felt like a failure even though everyone says it's okay.
