Mom won't stick to the schedule

We've got the custody agreement clear as day. She has kids Wed-Fri, I have them Sat-Sun plus Mon-Tue evenings. Last month she kept them an extra night 3 different times without asking. When I brought it up she said I was being rigid about it. But that schedule is how I plan my work and honestly it's what the court ordered. Do I need to get our mediator involved or am I being too strict?

Before you escalate this, have you two talked in person about why she's not sticking to it? Sometimes there's a reason behind it and working it out directly saves a lot of headache. Not saying you're wrong, just might be worth understanding first.

We had the same issue. What finally worked was setting up a shared calendar app where pickup and dropoff times were locked in. No room for interpretation. Took a few weeks for her to take it seriously but worth it.

This is frustrating. Have you documented when she's been late or off schedule? I know it sucks to track everything like that but if it becomes a pattern, you'll need the evidence. Keep texts and emails too.
