My kids started doing sports at times that overlap with my custody days. Their mom scheduled soccer without asking me first and now there's conflicts. The custody agreement doesn't really address this. Do I need to go back to court or can we just work it out between us? We get along okay but I don't want to be taken advantage of either.
Rough situation. You might need to go back to the custody agreement or mediation if she's actively scheduling stuff to cut into your time. That's worth getting legal clarity on. Or at minimum you need a direct conversation about whether you're both trying to be in the kids' activities.
This is exactly my situation. We had to sit down with their mom and work out a compromise where certain activities are scheduled around both of our time. It's annoying but treating it like it's about the kids' schedule not your custody days helps. At least that's what worked for us.
Kids doing sports is great but it shouldn't come at the cost of you losing custody days. Your setup sounds like it was agreed on for a reason. Talk to her about what actually works.
Been here. We adjusted things but it took a few conversations to get right. Make sure she knows this isn't about not supporting the kids, it's about fairness.
Been there man. The trick is proposing alternatives that work for both of you instead of just saying no. Maybe shift one activity to your time, handle transportation differently, something that doesn't leave you out of their sports. Custody shouldn't mean missing the stuff they care about.
This is tricky. The sports are good for them but you don't want to feel like you're missing your time. Have you written out all the dates and times to see if there's actually a pattern or just feels like one?

Custody modifications usually need to go through the system even if you both agree. I'd suggest trying to work it out directly first but keep it documented. Nothing too heavy, just records.
