New custody schedule starting Monday, nervous about consistency

So the judge finalized everything last week and I officially have the kids every other weekend plus Wednesday nights. My ex and I agreed to this but now I'm second-guessing myself. I work construction so sometimes I get called in early or have late projects. I don't want to be that guy canceling on my kids because of work. Any of you balance job flexibility with a strict custody schedule? What am I missing here?

New schedule anxiety is real man. I've been doing the every-other-weekend thing for two years now and honestly the consistency becomes your anchor. Set routines for your time and stick to them. The kids thrive on knowing what to expect.
