New custody schedule starting Monday, tips for keeping kids stable?

So the judge signed off on our new 50/50 split last week. I have them Mon-Wed and every other weekend now. My ex and I are actually getting along better since we're not living together, which helps. Anyone else deal with switching houses that often with young kids? I want to make sure they don't feel like they're living out of a suitcase. Should I keep duplicates of everything at both places or is that overkill?

Monday-Wed and every other weekend is a solid split. My advice: label everything that goes between houses. Seriously. Favorite stuffed animal, homework folder, change of clothes. We use a whiteboard on the fridge at my place to track what needs to go to mom's.

Congrats on getting the schedule finalized. The consistency is huge for them. What I've found with my three is that keeping the same bedtime routine at both houses helps a ton. Same time, same steps, even if the environment is different. Makes the transitions smoother.

The first few weeks are going to be the adjustment period. Don't be surprised if they're a little clingy or act out. That's normal. Just stay calm and keep reinforcing that both parents love them equally. You've got this.
