New girlfriend and how to navigate telling the kids

Been separated for about a year and I've started seeing someone. It's going pretty well and I know eventually the kids will find out. Trying to figure out timing and how to approach this without making it weird. My therapist said to take it slow and not introduce anyone until it's serious. My ex doesn't know yet and honestly I'm nervous about how she'll react even though she's already dating someone. Any advice on how you guys handled this?

Honestly, kids are pretty resilient with this stuff. I told my three separately and let them each process it their own way. Keep it low-key at first, maybe a casual activity together rather than some big formal dinner situation.

I'd wait until it's more solid before introducing her to the kids. With mine, I learned that timing is everything - maybe after you've been together 6+ months and you're pretty confident this is going somewhere. Good call thinking this through ahead of time.

My daughter asked me straight up if I was seeing anyone when she noticed I was getting ready more carefully. I just answered honestly and kept it simple. Kids usually know something's up anyway, so being straightforward beats them finding out weird ways.
