New girlfriend situation is complicating custody

Been seeing someone for 6 months and my ex is claiming it's inappropriate around the kids. She wants to amend the custody agreement. I'm not even introducing them yet but her lawyer is already making noise about it. This is ridiculous right? How do you navigate dating when you have kids in the middle of it?

Sam here - been exactly where you are. The key is showing your ex that your girlfriend doesn't replace parenting time, it adds to your life. Document everything you do with your kid and keep her involved. It helps more than you'd think.

Six months in is still early, so maybe pump the brakes a bit on having her around during custody time while things settle. Not saying she can't be in your life, just be strategic about when the kids meet her. Protects everyone.
