Paying Child Support When Hours Got Cut

Had my hours reduced at work and now my child support payment is going to be tough. My kids still need to eat and live at my place 5 days a week so my expenses didn't go down. Can I get a modification or is my ex going to fight me on this? Don't want to miss a payment but also need to be realistic about what I can afford. Anyone been through this? Trying to figure out if I need a lawyer or if we can work it out between us.

That's a tough spot man. Have you looked into modifying the support order based on the reduced hours? Most judges will adjust when circumstances change like that.

I've been there with the hours getting cut. Make sure you document everything and talk to your ex about it if you can. Your kids eating and having stable housing at your place matters.
