Pickup is always 15 minutes late and I'm over it

Every. Single. Friday. My ex is late picking up the kids. Not by like 5 minutes, we're talking 15-20 minutes regularly. Then she acts like I'm the one being difficult when I mention it.

I have plans sometimes, man. Or I just want to have my evening. Am I being petty if I charge her for my time or just enforce the agreement strictly? This has been going on for 2 years so it's not a one-off situation.

Every Friday though? That's not forgetfulness, that's disrespect for your time. Might need to have the uncomfortable conversation about consequences if it keeps happening.

15-20 minutes consistently every Friday would drive me insane too. Have you documented these late pickups? Might be worth mentioning to her directly first, but if it keeps happening that's something for the custody agreement.

Document it for a few weeks with dates and times. If you ever need to go back to court or mediation you'll have the proof. It shows a pattern and not just one off incidents.

I feel you on this. My ex does the same thing and my kids ended up thinking it was okay to be late to things. Started charging her a late fee like a daycare does. Sounds harsh but it actually worked.

This is frustrating as hell. I get that life happens but if it's literally every single time that's a pattern, not an accident. Have you tried texting her like an hour before saying you have plans?
