My 4yo has had like 3 accidents this week on transition days (Mon mornings when I pick him up from mom's place). Otherwise he's dry. Is this just stress from switching houses or should I be concerned? First time parent stuff and honestly it's got me worried.
Pretty normal honestly. Transitions are stressful for little ones, especially at 4. The anxiety can totally cause accidents even if they're doing great at home. Just keep a change of clothes in the car and don't make a big deal out of it when it happens.
Don't stress this too much. At 4 it's super common. Keep reinforcing positive mornings when he stays dry and the accidents will probably stop once he gets more comfortable with the transition. Some kids just need extra time to adjust.
My 5yo does the same thing. I think it's anxiety mixed with the routine being different. On the Monday mornings I started doing a calming activity in the car for like 10 minutes before we head anywhere and it's helped.
Have you and his mom talked about keeping the same bedtime routine at both places? Consistency around sleep can actually help with the daytime accidents more than you'd think.

Three accidents in a week after doing well is regression for sure but it's likely temporary. How's he been sleeping? Sometimes sleep disruption during transitions leads to daytime accidents because they're just off their routine.
