She keeps texting me about stuff that's not urgent and I can't focus at work

My ex will send me like 10 messages a day about the kids. Most of it is not time sensitive. Like today she sent me pics of my son's soccer game while I was in a meeting. I get it, she wants me involved, but this constant texting is killing me. We have a family calendar set up but she just ignores it and texts anyway. Anyone else deal with this? How do you set boundaries without looking like the bad guy?

10 messages a day sounds exhausting. Have you tried setting a boundary with her? Like maybe a designated check-in time once a day for non-emergencies? If it's actually affecting your work performance you gotta say something. Kids don't benefit from a stressed out dad at the office.

Set up a shared app like Our Family Wizard or Coparently if you haven't already. It sounds annoying to set up but it's a game changer. You can batch read messages during specific times instead of getting pinged all day. My ex and I cut our text volume in half once we had a system.

This is rough because you need to stay involved with your kids but also need to work. Maybe set an auto-response during work hours that says you'll check co-parenting messages at lunch and 5pm? That way she knows you'll see it but she's not expecting real-time responses.
