She's badmouthing me to the kids and I'm furious

My 8 year old came back from his mom's house saying I 'don't care about him' and when I asked where that came from he said his mom said it. I've never missed a payment, I pick him up on time, I'm present. This feels like a low blow and I'm trying not to lose it. Do I mention this to her or does that just make it worse? How are you guys dealing with this stuff?

Document these situations and keep being the dad who shows up and cares. Your 8yo will eventually figure out who really has his back. Don't stoop to her level by badmouthing back.

This is one of the hardest parts of co-parenting. Kids are sponges and they repeat what they hear. I'd have a calm conversation with the other parent about how this is affecting him, but stay focused on what's best for the kid not winning an argument.

That's rough man, I'm sorry. When my ex says stuff like that to my kids it makes my blood boil. The best thing you can do is stay calm with your 8yo and show him through your actions that you care. Don't engage in the badmouthing war.
