She's trying to move 3 states away with the kids
My ex wants to move to California for her job. We have two kids, they're 8 and 10. I'm a big part of their lives, coach my son's baseball team, see them 4 days a week. The court hasn't ruled yet but everyone's saying unless I can prove it's not in the best interest of the children, I'm stuck. How do I prove that seeing their dad is in their best interest when she's claiming better schools and better opportunity for them? I feel like the system is rigged against involved fathers. Any dads been through this? What did you do?
This is tough stuff. California is no joke distance-wise. You're going to want legal help here because moving across state lines with kids is a whole different ballgame than just changing schools.
