Splitting custody and I'm a wreck

Going through the divorce and the lawyer is pushing me toward a 50/50 custody schedule. I work full time and honestly I don't know how I'm going to make it work. But I also don't want to be that dad who only sees his kids on weekends. My ex wants primary custody with me getting them 4 days a month and it kills me to even type that. Has anyone managed 50/50 while working a regular job? I need to know it's possible before I lose my mind over this.

Going through the same thing right now man. 50/50 custody with a full time job is a lot to juggle. Are you working 9 to 5 or something more variable? The schedule makes a huge difference in how doable this actually is.

Hang in there. The first few months of custody arrangements are the hardest while you figure out the new rhythm. It does stabilize though. Have you and your ex talked about what actually works for your work schedule?

Man, I feel this. The 50/50 split scared me too at first, but honestly it gets easier once you find your rhythm. You're going to figure out the logistics because you have to, and your kids are going to appreciate having you present and trying. Hang in there.

The full-time work plus custody thing is a grind but it's doable. I've been doing it for a couple years now and the key is not being too hard on yourself when days don't go perfectly. Your kids just need you to show up, not be perfect.

I'm not going to sugarcoat it, 50/50 with a demanding job is a wreck at first. But it's doable and honestly having that dedicated time with your kids might be the bright spot in all this. What's your biggest concern right now?
