Took kids to Legoland on my week - worth every penny

Drove down to Carlsbad with my two (ages 7 and 10) last weekend. They talked about it non-stop. Expensive? Absolutely. But watching them both win a Ninjago trophy at the building competition and seeing them actually smile without looking at a screen... ngl that's the stuff that makes the 50/50 custody arrangement feel like a win. Just wanted to celebrate because the hard days make you forget what it's all for.

Legoland is pricey but that Ninjago building comp is actually sick. My kids are still talking about the trophy they won 6 months ago. Worth it for a special memory imo

That trophy thing genuinely got me. Our kids do that exact activity at other places and we always just move on. Never thought about how huge it is for them to actually win something. Gonna remember this.

The building competition trophy thing is genius. That's actually worth more than the admission price honestly. They didn't just go to Legoland, they WON something there. That's a different memory.

I do one big expensive trip per year and honestly it's in the budget. my kids remember those days way more than the weekly cheap stuff. that trophy moment is still being referenced in our house

worth every penny def. people judging on cost don't get that experiences with both kids together like that are rare. you got them in the same excited headspace at the same time. priceless

How'd you swing that on your week? I thought Legoland was like an all-day thing. We were thinking about doing something like this but figured one day would wipe them out.

the hotel there is weirdly good too if you haven't stayed overnight. makes the whole trip feel less rushed and kids are tireder = better behavior

Carlsbad Legoland is the move. Yeah it's expensive but a weekend of actual quality time with both kids where everyone's happy and making memories? Can't put a price on that. Worth every penny for sure.
