Transition days are brutal
Wednesday and Sunday evenings are honestly the worst. My 6yo gets so clingy and anxious about leaving, and my 4yo sometimes cries in the car for the first 10 minutes. I know it's normal but it KILLS me every time. Like I feel like I'm failing them somehow.
Does this get better as they get older? My ex says her place is the same way. At least we agree on that.
Wednesday and Sunday are the worst because they're the 'back to reality' transitions. Have you tried something small that signals the routine (special playlist in the car, one snack they only get on transition days) to make it feel less jarring?
