My ex refuses to use the coparenting app I suggested and only communicates through angry texts. Last week she didn't tell me about a doctor's appointment change for our son until after it happened. I brought it to her attention and she went off saying I'm controlling and micromanaging. I just want to be informed about our kid's life. Should I push for the app again or just let it go?
This is one of the hardest parts of splitting custody. Can't force someone to communicate the right way but you can control how you respond. Stay professional in those texts even when they're angry.
Screenshot everything. I know it sounds paranoid but angry texts are way easier to defend against if things ever go legal. Might seem petty but it protects you and the kids in the long run.
That would stress me out big time. Have you thought about asking a mediator or your custody agreement to require notification of appointments? Sometimes putting it in writing makes people take it more seriously than any app ever could.

Man, that's rough. I had similar issues with my ex early on. Sometimes I found it helped to just keep my responses short and factual, even when she was fired up. Document everything though, just in case. The app can wait if she won't use it, but those texts are your paper trail.

The app thing is frustrating but you can't control what she does. What you can control is keeping your responses civil even when hers aren't. I switched to only using email for everything because it creates a record and keeps me from reacting in the moment. Might help with the angry texts.
Take screenshots of those angry texts. Not to be petty, but for your own protection if custody stuff ever comes up. And yeah, coparenting without communication is basically impossible. Stay strong.

That's brutal. Some people just aren't ready to coparent maturely. All you can do is document everything and be the stable one. Your kids will notice which parent is trying to make things work.
