Tired of texting with my ex turning into drama. I've heard about OurFamilyWizard, Talking Parents, and custody X change. Anyone actually use these? Do they really help keep things professional or is it just another app to manage? We have a 5yo and 11yo so I need something that tracks schedule AND expenses.
Real talk: the app only works if you're willing to not respond emotionally to whatever she sends. My ex tries to bait me into arguments on Talking Parents and I just... don't engage. The app records everything anyway so staying calm actually puts you in a better position if it ever matters legally.
We use Talking Parents and honestly it's been a game changer. Way cheaper than OFW and the tone reminders help my ex chill out when she's about to send something passive aggressive. Still use it for both kids.
These apps work best if BOTH parents actually commit to using them professionally. If your ex keeps texting your personal phone anyway, the app becomes useless. You gotta set that boundary first.
Used Custody X Change for a while, switched to OFW. The X Change interface is clunkier but it's cheaper. OFW is smoother and worth the extra money if drama is a real problem between you two.
The shared calendar feature is what sold me. No more 'wait when do I have them' confusion. OFW has it, TP has it. Just pick one and both agree to use ONLY that for communication.
