Dad humor that actually worked
My teenager groaned when I said 'I'm reading a book about anti-gravity. It's impossible to put down.' But then I caught him telling his friend the joke later. Victory.

That's a legitimately good one though. The anti-gravity book joke actually has a solid setup and punchline structure. Did your teenager actually groan or did you catch a smile before the groan? I feel like some of my best jokes land and my oldest tries so hard not to laugh.
Your teenager might be more into your humor than you think. The groan is just the teenage uniform.
The groan is the whole point though. You win as a dad when they groan at your jokes.
The fact that it actually worked is impressive. Most teenager groans are automatic at this point, like a reflex. If you got genuine annoyance that means the joke penetrated the teenage defense system.

That's a solid one. My teenager actually laughed at an anti-gravity joke last week instead of the usual eye roll. I'll take it.
