My 7 year old: 'Dad why did the scarecrow win an award?' Me: 'Why?' Him: 'Because he was outstanding in his field!' I died laughing. He's been watching YouTube compilations of dad jokes and now he won't stop. This is what I created and I have no regrets.
Wait let me guess... because he was outstanding IN HIS FIELD. Classic. I love when kids tell jokes they think are original but they're actually just old ones they heard somewhere.
That's actually pretty clever for a seven year old. Better than anything I come up with most days. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree of terrible dad humor apparently.
That's solid. My seven year old just discovered jokes and he's been testing them out on everyone. Most of them don't land but that one actually works.

Haha brilliant. Out of the mouths of babes. My kids are just starting to get humor at that level and it's actually kind of amazing watching them understand wordplay for the first time.
