Apparently his grades are so bad they're considered a work of fiction. I asked him about it and he said at least he's creative with his excuses.

At least he owns it with humor instead of coming up with some wild story. That takes guts. When's parent-teacher conference? Those are always enlightening.
Ha, at least he's got personality! My daughter's only 3 so I've got a few years before I'm dealing with report cards, but I'm already bracing myself. Maybe the creativity is a good sign for the future?

That's the spirit - if he's gonna bomb a class, might as well make it entertaining. My kids pull similar stuff and I just try to remember that some of us are late bloomers. Hang in there, man.
