Caught my 3 year old trying to sneak cookies from the pantry. I said 'whatcha doing buddy?' He froze, looked me dead in the eyes and said 'I'm a cookie monster now' and made monster sounds. He was fully committed to the bit. Like buddy you're wearing dinosaur pajamas and you're definitely busted but I respect the hustle. Laughed so hard I let him have the cookie.
That's hilarious man. My oldest tried something similar last week and when I caught him he just stared at me like I was the one breaking the rules. Three year olds have zero shame and I love it.
Four kids here and I can tell you the creativity they come up with is endless. The cookie thief excuse made my day though. Those moments are what make all the chaos worth it.
