Got my kids to laugh genuinely today and I'm riding this high

Usually my jokes get the classic eye roll or 'dad please stop' but this morning I said something about the pancakes being 'so good they're un-FLIPP-able' and both my kids actually lost it. Not the fake polite laugh. Real belly laughs. I don't even remember what I said half the time but when you nail it, you nail it. I'm going to try to recreate this magic forever.

This is the stuff that matters. Between work and coaching and everything else, it's easy to forget that just making your kids genuinely happy is sometimes the whole point.

Man, I know that feeling. You're riding high all day after something like that. My 5 year old laughed at one of my puns last week and I probably told that story to like five different people.

Riding that high is totally valid. My kids finally laughed at one of mine last month and I brought it up at least five times that day.
